Can the pods withstand extreme weather conditions?
One of the most popular questions we get asked.
The answer of course is yes!
Our pods are engineered and finished to withstand the most challenging weather conditions and locations.
This winter the UK and Ireland has already been hit by a number of storms including most recently Eleanor, Dylan and of course the infamous Ophelia.
The Met Office and Met Eireann decided to follow the US system of giving boys and girls’ names to tropical storms and hurricanes.
This was after analysis showed that naming storms makes people more aware of the severe weather and helps them prepare in advance.
Storms this year have seen our coastal areas battered by 100mph+ winds and significant levels of flooding.
Red weather warnings were issued for many parts of the country.
Our pod has been tested to withstand the harshest of weather conditions from the windiest to the wettest locations. To floating on water or being buried underground.
So far we have buried a pod reinforcing it to withstand 2.5 tonnes per square metre and allowing for 6 inches of free draining and underground coverage.

Our recently installed pod at Fanadhead Lighthouse will be required to withstand some of the most extreme weather conditions experienced within Ireland.
Fanadhead Lighthouse is situated on the northern coast of the Fanad Peninsula in North Donegal.
Our pods can be powder coated to meet your colour specification but more importantly the coating is uniquely mixed to protect the outer skin of the pod based on the weather conditions of the location of the pod.
We are fortunate to boast some of the most stunning coastlines and countryside in the UK and Ireland.
However, we are not so fortunate with the weather conditions.
Thankfully our tourists visit the UK and Ireland expecting to experience all four seasons in one day.
At least with an Intupod pod you can guarantee your guests a warm and dry accommodation experience throughout their stay.
