FAQ: Do your pods need planning permission?

Do your pods need planning permission?

The answer is YES & NO.

YES – For commercial use our pods do require planning permission.

NO – For domestic use our pods do not require planning permission.

If you are planning to rent out your pods to generate an income then you will need planning approval to site pods on your land.

Planning permission is required in order to be allowed to build on land, or change the use of land or buildings. Our pods are a considered a permanent structure.

If you intend to use pod to create additional space at your home in the form of an office, studio or extra bedroom for family or friends then planning permission is not required.

We are often asked for advice and support in making a planning application.

We will undertake to support our customers as best as possible in submitting their applications on a project by project basis. This can include providing detailed pod drawings and layouts as well as providing detailed information on the pod structure.

The planning process differs across England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

Each region or council area will probably have it’s own unique approach to the planning process.
